Health Minister Andrea Kalavska (a Smer-SD nominee) on Thursday launched a state-run programme for screening cervical cancer at the National Cancer Institute (NOU), the third state-run programme of this kind following equivalents for colon cancer and breast cancer screenings. The target group in the programme are women aged 23-64. Kalavska called on Slovak women to make use of this opportunity. Health insurance companies will invite women to preventive gynaecological check-ups.
