Slovak govt adopts Envirostrategy 2030

The Slovak government on Wednesday greenlighted its Envirostrategy 2030, a document for guiding Slovakia's environmental policy over the years to come, TASR learnt. Drafted within two years by the Environmental Policy Institute (IEP) under the auspices of the Environment Ministry and in cooperation with 160 experts from various fields and the public, the Envirostrategy 2030 targets will be included in other concept governmental documents and legislation. "In terms of protecting air from pollution it contains, for instance, support for more efficient heating systems and reducing coal-based energy production. As for waste disposal, we'd like to focus on support for waste collection, prevention and to address illegal landfills," said IEP director Martin Halus.
