Slovak diplomat appointed CoE rep for migration

Council of Europe Secretary-General Marija Pejcinovic Buric has appointed Slovak diplomat Drahoslav Stefanek as her new special representative for migration and refugees, TASR learnt on Thursday. The post was created in December 2015 in reaction to the unprecedented flow of migrants and refugees to Europe. The task of the special representative is to observe how the fundamental rights of migrants and refugees are protected on the ground in member states and to draw up proposals for action at national and European level.
