Slovak deficit EUR 1.49 bn

July 1st, 2019

The Slovak state budget recorded a deficit of 1.49 billion euros at the end of June, going up by 917.7 million euros in year-on-year terms, with budget revenue and expenditure in principle developing in line with the approved State Budget Act for 2019, the finance ministry reported on Monday. State budget revenues were up by 169 million euros at the end of June this year, up 2.6 percent year-on-year. State budget expenditure increased by 1 billion euros year-on-year, by 15.2 percent. The ministry said spending was growing faster than revenue in the first half of the year, especially because of defence equipment purchases.
