The Czech Senate on Wednesday rejected the interior ministry's amendment to the law on access to information. The amendment proposed to restrict the right to information if it concerns data on ongoing criminal proceedings and the Czech interests abroad. The Senate said that the EU's data protection regulation, the GDPR, did not warrant such measures.
