SaS wants Vietnamese ambassador in Slovakia to leave country

March 4th, 2019

The opposition Freedom and Solidarity (SaS) party called for Foreign Affairs Minister Miroslav Lajcak on Monday to ask the Vietnamese ambassador in Slovakia to leave the country. The party did so due to the decision of the German court that came to a decision that Vietnamese national Trinh Xuan Thanh was abducted from Germany through Slovakia using a Slovak government plane. According to SaS, this proves that the Vietnamese ambassador lied to the Foreign Affairs Ministry. The ministry in reaction stated that it doesn't want to rush to judgement as, according to available information, the German court hasn't decided yet on the matter. It also pointed out that the decision SaS refers to is from July last year.
