The Opposition Freedom and Solidarity (SaS) party will turn to the Constitutional Court in connection with a law introducing a special levy for retail chains that was re-approved by the House on Thursday following President Andrej Kiska's veto. SaS in its statement said that the Slovak Constitution explicitly says that Slovakia works on the basis of a social market economy and the state protects competition. However, by the adoption of the law on a special levy, all the afore-mentioned attributes were violated, added SaS. "Regardless of the outcome of the Constitutional Court, SaS will abolish this nonsensical law at the first opportunity," said SaS head Richard Sulik.
