SaS: Land consolidation 'good but late'

April 18th, 2019

The opposition Freedom and Solidarity (SaS) party considers the land consolidation announced by head of the Agriculture and Rural Development Ministry Gabriela Matecna thirty years after the Velvet Revolution to be an activity carried out "five minutes after midnight", TASR learnt from Marie Stracenska of the SaS communications department on Thursday. Matecna made an announcement concerning the launch of the land consolidation scheme at a conference on Tuesday. According to her, such a project is necessary in 3,103 land office areas. The state should launch land consolidation in 120 land office areas each year over 30 years, a task that is set to cost an average 30.8 million euros a year.
