The ruling Fidesz-Christian Democrat alliance has called on the government to be "unyielding" in promoting Hungarian interests in the upcoming debate in the United Nations on the UN migration package. Christian Democrat parliamentary spokesman Lorinc Nacsa told public media on Thursday that "the Hungarian people have made a decision; Hungary does not want to become a migrant destination and this is the position that must be promoted in the UN and in any other forum." Nacsa insisted that the UN plan was "entirely pro-migration" and would be "equal to passing the Soros Plan", which could lead to "irrevocable changes" to Europe's population. "Migration must not be assisted but rather stopped, while protection of our countries must be enhanced", Nacsa said.
