Retired Czech footballer Repka released from prison on parole

The Plzen Regional Court decided to release retired Czech footballer Tomas Repka, 46, who played in the national team in 1994-2001, from prison on parole behind closed doors on Monday, court spokeswoman Lucie Jichova has told CTK. Repka spent 226 days behind bars, more than one-third of his sentence. Last year, Repka was sentenced to 2.5 years behind bars for embezzlement of a luxurious car, Internet attacks on his his ex-wife and obstructing the execution of an official decision. The Regional Court imposed a three-year probation and a supervision of a probationary officer on Repka. Besides, it ordered him to cover the damage of 430,000 crowns he caused.
