Supporting renewable energy sources is a priority for the Slovak energy ministry, Peter Ziga, the minister, said at a conference on the subject entitled 'Modern Trends in European Energy', which took place in Bratislava on Wednesday. Ziga added that as part of the implementation of the EU climate and energy package, Slovakia has committed itself to increasing the share of RES in its energy consumption by 14 percent by 2020. "According to the latest Eurostat data, we're meeting this target at 12.9 percent, and it is a realistic assumption that we will be able to meet the binding target, Ziga said.
