President appoints new digital affairs minister

April 17th, 2018

Polish President Andrzej Duda on Tuesday appointed Marek Zagorski as the new minister for digital affairs. The appointment of Zagorski -- who had previously served as deputy minister for digital affairs -- was made at the request of Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki. The previous minister, Anna Strezynska, was dismissed on January 9 and since then the ministry had been without its top official. Morawiecki held constitutional supervision and Marek Zagorski oversaw current work. The new minister had been deputy leader of one of the coalition parties, Agreement, but two weeks ago joined the main ruling party Law and Justice.
