Polish President Andrzej Duda and Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko on Monday discussed the situation in the Sea of Azov, over the phone, Krzysztof Szczerski, the president's aide, told PAP. A half-hour telephone conversation was held at the initiative of the Ukrainian leader. Szczerski said that the details of the conversation will be revealed by the President's Office at a press briefing. Late on Sunday, Ukraine's navy said that three of its vessels were seized after being fired upon by Russian forces in the Kerch Strait. The vessels were on their way to the harbour of Mariupol on the shore of the Sea of Azov. Six Ukrainian sailors were wounded in the incident. The Ukrainian authorities have no official information about 23 members of the crews of these vessels.
