Deputy Infrastructure Minister Andrzej Gut-Mostowy told PAP on Tuesday that the tourism industry is being particularly hard-hit by the coronavirus epidemic, and that despite there being no ban on hotel activities, hotels in Poland are empty. "At the moment, there is no ban on hotel activities or room rental in Poland, but hotels are closed because there are no tourists, people are not travelling," the deputy minister said. He added that the losses for the tourism industry would be huge. "A week ago it was estimated that losses in the industry could reach 1 billion zlotys (EUR 222.8m). Currently, it is very difficult to estimate, because it all depends on how long the epidemic will last," Gut-Mostowy added.
