The fruits of economic growth should be shared fairly across society, Polish President Andrzej Duda said on Monday in Słubice, a town on the Polish-German border. Duda stressed he wanted Poland's living standards to match German ones. "I would like Poland's living standards to be equal to Germany's. It is my great ambition. Of course, it's going to be years before we manage to do it. But I'd like Poles to have better and better living standards, I would like the division of goods in our society to be fair," President Duda said, noting that "Poland's GDP has been growing every year without interruption." Duda also mentioned the current government's social programmes, including the landmark 500 Plus, a monthly child benefit scheme, which he said woudl make "Poland more just."
