Polish president okays pay rise for teachers

Polish President Andrzej Duda on Tuesday signed into law a package of benefits for teachers, including a pay rise and bonuses for trainee teachers and form teachers. The beneficial solutions will be effective from September. The teachers' average pay is to increase by 9.6 percent between September 1 and December 31, 2019, according to the amended teacher law. According to the new rules, the basic pay of teachers will range from PLN 2,782 to PLN 3,817 gross (EUR 655-899) depending on their level of professional advancement.
