Polish President Andrzej Duda and King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands in Breda on Tuesday paid homage to General Stanislaw Maczek and his soldiers on the 75th anniversary of the 1944 liberation of the Dutch city of Breda by Polish allied forces. Tuesday's observances started at the Polish Honorary Military Cemetery where General Maczek and over 160 of his soldiers are buried. The general died in Great Britain, but it was his last will to be laid to rest with his soldiers. General Maczek was the commander of the First Polish Armoured Division which liberated Breda from the Germans in 1944. Later in the day, President Duda and King Willem-Alexander will receive a military parade in honour of the Polish soldiers who liberated Breda.
