Poland's justice minister has accused Ursula von der Leyen of acting in bad faith after she suggested Poland and Hungary use the European Court of Justice to resolve their problems with the latest EU budget. On Wednesday, Von der Leyen, the head of the European Commission, said in the European Parliament that the court was the place where differences of opinions about legislative texts were usually settled. But Zbigniew Ziobro, the justice minister, told Polish Radio 24 on Thursday that the head of the commission must know that European treaties, which are the primary laws of the EU and shape the functioning of EU bodies, as well as the relations of states with those bodies, disqualify the court from resolving such issues.
