Polish govt slashes social insurance contributions for small firms

June 26th, 2018

The Polish government on Tuesday approved a draft law that cuts the monthly social insurance premiums to 660 zlotys (EUR 152) for the smallest companies from more than 1,200 zlotys. Some 200,000 companies are expected to save about 1.5 billion zlotys on the preferential solution in the first year. "The bill came at Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki's initiative and this prime ministerial obligation has been introduced," government spokeswoman Joanna Kopcińska said, adding that the measure had been discussed with all sides.
