Poland's Deputy PM and Development Minister Jadwiga Emilewicz and Health Minister Lukasz Szumowski voiced their beliefs on Monday that at present it would be impossible to hold traditional elections, and that during the pandemic new solutions should be sought. Emilewicz said that due to the coronavirus epidemic, presidential elections could not be held in the normal manner within the time limit set by the constitution. "This is out of the question," she told the daily Polska Times. Szumowski told the daily Dziennik Gazeta Prawna that "there is no proof that postal voting could increase the risk of a higher coronavirus incidence."
