The Polish government on Tuesday adopted a bill on rent supplement, which is to be paid out over nine years according to criteria laid down by the municipal council. The bill was prepared by the Ministry of Investment and Development, which informed PAP about its adoption by the cabinet on Tuesday. The ministry explained that the new measure was necessary because around 40 percent of Poles, especially young people starting out on their careers, earn too little to obtain a mortgage, but too much to receive municipal accommodation.
