In 2017, nearly 580,000 highly educated Poles lived in another EU country, according to a report on brain drain by the European Committee of the Regions, which was presented in Brussels on Wednesday. Of the 17 million Europeans who changed their country of residence, one in four (around 4.2 million) had a tertiary level of education. The share of highly skilled employees among migrants has been steadily increasing between 2014-2017. "In absolute terms, the highest number of highly educated movers in 2017 was from Poland (576,300), Germany (472,700), and Romania (467,500)," the report said.
