Polish, German metropolises sign cooperation contract

The authorities of Poland's Gornoslasko-Zaglebiowska Metropolis (GZM) and Germany's Ruhr Metropolis, polycentric urban areas, signed an official agreement on cooperation in Katowice, southern Poland on Friday. This is the first contract of its type, concluded between GZM and a foreign partner, since the Polish metropolis was first launched in 2017. In August last year, the authorities of GZM and the Ruhr Metropolis signed in Dortmund a letter of intent regarding the cooperation. The document included spatial planning, economic transformation, challenges related to climate change and urban mobility.
