Polish Foreign Minister Jacek Czaputowicz on Monday praised the ruling party Law and Justice's (PiS) decision to move the EU affairs section from the Foreign Ministry to the PM's Office. PM Mateusz Morawiecki announced the change on Friday while presenting the line-up of the proposed new cabinet following the October 13 election that PiS won, gaining the opportunity to form a government for a second four-year term. The EU affairs unit will be run by Deputy Foreign Minister Konrad Szymanski, who used to be responsible for the same tasks at the ministry. "It is a good decision. It is the realisation of the PiS programme," Czaputowicz told reporters in Brussels. It will take several months to carry out the change, he added. Czaputowicz said the prime minister's role will be stronger in the new structure, which, according to him, will facilitate the coordination of Polish EU policies.
