Polish film shortlisted for Oscars' best international film

December 17th, 2019

Boze Cialo (Corpus Christi), a Polish film directed by Jan Komasa, was shortlisted for the 92nd Academy Award in the Best International Feature Film category, the US Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced. The 10 films on the shortlist were selected from a total of 91 eligible films. The Oscar nominations will be announced on Jan. 13. On Monday, the US film academy announced shortlists in a total of nine categories. The 92nd Academy Awards ceremony will be held in Los Angeles on February 9, 2020. The "Best Foreign-Language Film" category will undergo a name change ahead of the 2020 ceremony, becoming the "Best International Feature Film." Komasa's film, inspired by real-life events, is the story of a twenty-year-old who, after leaving a juvenile detention centre, pretends to be a priest.
