The Polish economy has a better structure today than a decade ago, thanks to which it has managed to balance imports and exports, Deputy Finance Minister Leszek Skiba said at a Thursday debate hosted by the Polish Economic Institute. Skiba noted that the economy mainly owed its sound balance to Poland's increasingly innovative export offer, low inflation and the fact that the current economic slowdown in Germany has not diminished Polish exports to the country. Skiba said the government planned to encourage Polish entrepreneurs to engage in more investments and innovation as means to raise national growth. Polish Economic Institute head Pawel Borys said local investments would be decisive for economic growth in the coming year.
