Polish dairy firm Mlekpol gets EUR 50 m EIB loan

Mlekpol, Poland's second-biggest dairy producer, has received a 50 million euro loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB) for the modernisation of its production, logistics and warehousing infrastructure, the EIB said in a press release on Tuesday. "Investment in modern technology can bring great opportunities to our farmers and rural areas. I am particularly pleased to see that this project will benefit both the company and the environment as well," said European Commissioner for Agriculture Janusz Wojciechowski, as quoted in the EIB statement. "The farming community has an important role to play in achieving our climate goals."
