Poland, US to support people in Middle East in joint pilot project

Poland and the US will join forces in a pilot project worth USD 528,000 to provide humanitarian aid, including specialised care for resettled Iraqis, in a mission carried out in Iraq, Poland's minister for humanitarian aid Michal Wos said on Thursday. Wos noted that the Polish-American operations aimed at supporting people in the Middle East were made possible thanks to a memorandum of understanding signed last year between the Prime Minister's Office and the US Agency for International Development (USAID). The document deals with cooperation for the increase of pluralism and prevention of genocide and acts of persecution in the Middle East.
