Poland's unemployment up in December - Labour Ministry

Poland's registered unemployment rose to 5.9 percent in December 2018 from 5.8 percent a month earlier, the Family and Labour Ministry announced on Tuesday. There were 971,300 unemployed people in Poland at the end of 2018. The number of unemployed went up in December by 20,800, or 2.2 percent, from the previous month, the ministry said, adding that the monthly growth was stronger compared to the previous year, when the unemployment figure saw a monthly increase of 14,100 people at the end of the year.
