The final of the football club competition, the European League, will be held in the northern Polish city of Gdansk in 2020, the sport's European governing body, UEFA, decided on Thursday. UEFA's Executive Committee made the decision at a meeting in the Ukrainian capital of Kiev. Gdansk had competed for the role with the Portuguese city of Porto, which was eventually chosen to hold the UEFA Supercup game in 2020 instead. The stadium in Gdansk, the PGE Arena, was one of the four Polish venues of the 2012 soccer European Championships, which the country co-organised with Ukraine.
