The Polish Foreign Ministry has summoned Israeli Ambassador to Poland Anna Azari to offer explanations to a controversial article in the Jerusalem Post newspaper, the Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Ewa Suwara, said on Friday. The Jerusalem Post reported on Thursday evening that during his stay in Warsaw, Benjamin Netanyahu had said that Poles had collaborated with the Nazis in the Holocaust. In a message addressed to the director of the Foreign Affairs Department of the Polish Prime Minister's Office, Marek Korowajczyk, this information was denied by Azari. In her message, Azari emphasised that she had been present at the prime minister's briefing and he did not say that the Polish nation collaborated with the Nazis, only that no person had been sued for making statements about those Poles who had collaborated with them.
