Poland's largest Lutheran church to be renovated

The refurbishment of the exterior of the Church of Jesus in Cieszyn (southern Poland), the largest Lutheran church in Poland, could start as soon as the end of May, Pastor Janusz Sikora, a local parish priest, told PAP on Monday. Sikora said that the work, to take four years, will include a reinforcement of the church's foundations and the installation of appropriate drainage in the surrounding area. The exterior of the church will also be re-plastered and all windows will be replaced. The priest added that the works are crucial, as cracks and moisture have appeared on the walls of the 18th-century structure. The renovation work will cost around 20.8 million zlotys (EUR 4.89m).
