Poland backs higher contributions to EU budget - minister

Poland supports the idea to raise the level of contributions to the EU budget that has been forwarded by EU's Budget Commissioner Guenther Oettinger, Investment and Development Minister Jerzy Kwiecinski said Friday. Kwiecinski, speaking to a public radio broadcaster, said the proposal to raise EU budget contributions from 1 percent to 1.1-1.19 percent of the GDP was "interesting." In his opinion, such a move would allow the filling-in of a EUR 12-14 billion annual gap after Brexit and at the same time finance new priorities.
