Poland will not have to amend its budget to cover the cost of the ruling Law and Justice (PiS) party's new election campaign promises, PM's Office head Michal Dworczyk said on Tuesday. At the party convention in Warsaw on Saturday, PiS head Jaroslaw Kaczynski said that if the party wins at the 2019 elections -- to the European Parliament (EP) in the spring and the national parliament in the autumn --, they would scrap income tax under the age of 26, introduce a 1,100 zloty (EUR 254) annual bonus to all pensioners as well as raise tax-deductible labour costs and lower the Personal Income Tax (PIT) for all employees.
