January 2nd, 2019
The head of the Prime Minister's Office, Michal Dworczyk, said on Wednesday he was convinced that "the budget for 2019 is well-prepared and will be approved in mid-January." Dworczyk made the statement in connection with media reports concerning the possibility of early parliamentary elections, which -- in the opinion of some experts -- could be caused by the fact that the budget law would not be approved on time. In an interview with a public radio broadcaster, Dworczyk stressed that "this is a typical situation in Polish politics when an unconfirmed piece of news ... is repeated by various commentators, media and journalists." "We have denied this information many times," he underlined.
