The Czech opposition Pirates plan to field 13 candidates in the autumn Senate elections in which 27 of the upper house's 81 seats will be contested, and they want to gain at least as many seats as to enable them to establish a Senate group of their own, their leader Ivan Bartos said on Monday. The Pirates entered the Chamber of Deputies, the lower house of parliament, for the first time in 2017, finishing third strongest of all in the general election. In the Senate, they have only one representative, Lukas Wagenknecht, and another three senators were previously elected with the Pirates' support.
