Pirate Zdenek Hrib elected Prague mayor
November 15th, 2018
Pirate Zdenek Hrib was elected the new mayor of Prague, winning support of 39 out of 65 the members of the Assembly at its constituent meeting today. The opposition Civic Democrats (ODS), who won the October local election in Prague, and ANO, which led the previous ruling coalition, did not vote for Hrib. The Prague Assembly is yet to elect four deputy mayors and six councillors as well as to form the assembly committees in which the opposition has raised objections to the ruling coalition's plans.
