The Polish People's Party (PSL) will host a roundtable devoted to the Polish justice system on Tuesday in the Sejm (lower house). Mainly discussed will be planned legislation aimed at improving the situation in the judiciary. The meeting will begin at 11:00 am on Tuesday in the Sejm's Daszynski Hall. The talks were announced on December 18 by PSL leader Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz. At the time, Kosiniak-Kamysz said new laws were necessary to mend the justice system's main failings, especially with regard to protracted court proceedings, excessive court costs and the uncertainty of court verdicts. The meeting comes in the wake of the Sejm's December passage of new judiciary laws authored by Poland's ruling party Law and Justice (PiS).
