Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini will lead Smer-SD into the 2020 general election, while party chief Robert Fico will be number two on the slate and Interior Minister Denisa Sakova will complete the top three candidates, Fico said at a press conference on Wednesday. "Peter, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you, your fingers will be crossed for me, we'll watch each other's backs, it wouldn't be possible any other way," said Fico, who is of the opinion that there is harmony between him and Pellegrini. At the same time Fico noted that the party wants to finish first. Fourth on the slate will be Vice-premier for Investments and Informatisation Richard Rasi, while MP Juraj Blanar will be fifth.
