Pellegrini: Slovakia will back EU's carbon neutrality goal

Slovakia supports the European Union in setting a goal of reaching carbon neutrality by 2050, Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini said on Tuesday after meeting President Zuzana Caputova, who praised this move. Pellegrini said UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has also expressed interest in Slovakia's approach in this matter. "[Guterres] has chosen Slovakia as one of the countries to contact before the summit of EU leaders takes place this week so that they support the ambitious aim of the EU to achieve carbon neutrality of our economy by 2050," Pellegrini said.
