Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini said on Tuesday he believes incoming British Prime Minister Boris Johnson will face a difficult task in bringing Brexit to a successful conclusion, at the same time congratulating him on his election as head of the Conservative Party. "I expect that the next British prime minister's participation in upcoming discussions of the European Council will be just as constructive as was that of former prime minister Theresa May," said Pellegrini. He said time would tell what plan and demands Johnson will present to other EU leaders. "However, there aren't many options," he said. "Slovakia wants a controlled Brexit. That will be the best case scenario for both parties."
