Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini, Defence Minister Peter Gajdos and Chief of the General Staff Daniel Zmeko on Thursday paid a visit to Slovak troops serving on the Resolute Support mission in Afghanistan to bring them a Christmas tree, materials for a traditional Slovak Christmas cabbage soup and some gifts. A total of 36 members of the Slovak Armed Forces, including two women, are currently on the mission in Afghanistan, with their chief tasks including consultancy for the local special forces and aviation personnel, apart from providing support for medics and staff officers. All in all, 358 Slovak soldiers have served in Afghanistan since the beginning of the mission.
