The Polish Sejm passed a bill on Tuesday on the ratification of the agreement between Poland and Britain on local elections, guaranteeing Polish and British citizens living in the other country the right to vote and stand in local elections. Four hundred and forty-four MPs voted in favour, no one was against and no one abstained. The bill, still to be approved by the Senate and signed by the president, is related to the agreement signed on May 29, 2020, by the governments of Poland and the United Kingdom. The document also gives Polish and British citizens living in the other country the right to run in local elections after Britain leaves the European Union.
