The overdue debt of Poles stands at more than 76.6 billion zlotys (EUR 17.3bn) in the second quarter of 2019, a growth of 640 million zlotys year on year, the BIG InfoMonitor's debt register and BIK Credit Information Bureau said on Monday. According to InfoMonitor, the debt is mainly the result of random incidents such as illness (45 percent), job loss (20 percent), low pay (35 percent) and low pensions (22 percent). At the same time, the number of borrowers, after a scant decrease, totalled around 2.8 million by the end of June, according to the data.
