Opposition slams Jourova position 'weak'

Petr Fiala, the head of the opposition Civic Democrats (ODS) party, on Tuesday slammed the position of European Commissioner Vera Jourova who has been appointed vice-president of the European Commission for values and transparency, saying the new position was "weak" and "had no real influence. In the outgoing legislative cycle, Jourova was responsible for justice, consumers and gender equality.
