Andreas Schleicher, the OECD's director of education, and Slovak Education Minister Martina Lubyova met on the sidelines of the European 21st Century Teacher conference in Bratislava to discuss the professional situation of Slovak teachers. Although the country has enough teachers compared to the number of schoolchildren, teachers in Slovakia still often feel isolated, undervalued and have no time for self-improvement, they said.
