There were 212 new HIV cases registered in the Czech Republic at the end of November (212), which is more than during the whole 2018 (208 cases), according to the data of the National Referential Laboratory of the Institute of Public Health (SZU). Since 1985, when HIV occurrence started being monitored in the Czech Republic, almost 3,600 people got infected with HIV until the end of September and AIDS developed in 663 patients, 308 of whom died of it. Experts estimate that some 530 people in the Czech Republic are HIV-positive without being aware of this.
