Number of children in private kindergartens on rise - CSU

The number of children in private kindergartens in the Czech Republic has been rising; they were attended by some 12,900 children in 2019, three times more than ten years ago, Helena Chodounska, from the Czech Statistical Office (CSU), told journalists on Tuesday. Last year, about one-fifth of children in private kindergartens were aged under three, while in public kindergartens this proportion was 12 percent. There were about 5,304 kindergartens in the Czech Republic in 2019, the private ones making up 3.5 percent of them.
