Novak: Pension premiums to be paid to 2.6 m retirees

November 11th, 2019

Some 2.6 million Hungarians receiving pension or other retirement benefits will be paid a pension premium this month, the state secretary for family and youth affairs told a press conference in Budapest on Monday. In the central budget a total amount of 52 billion forints (EUR 155.6m) has been allocated for the payment, Katalin Novak said. The maximum of the individual premiums will be 22,000 forints, she said, which will be allocated to retirees with a pension of 80,000 forints or above. This is the third year the government is paying a pension premium allowed by the economy's good performance, Novak added.
