No government in the past 30 years has done so much to improve Polish-Jewish relations, to foster Polish-Jewish culture and historical heritage, PM Mateusz Morawiecki said in Brussels on Thursday. Asked about Polish-Jewish ties in the context of his recent controversial statements about Jews and the Holocaust, Morawiecki said the government counted on continuing "very good" relations with Israel and Jewish communities. Answering reporters at the February Security Conference in Munich, Morawiecki suggested that there were also "Jewish perpetrators" of the Holocaust. The statement brought a strong response from Israel, with PM Benjamin Netanyahu calling Morawiecki's words "outrageous."
